Imperial Vienna

Vienna in the 1900s

Vienna developed to an important metropolis in the late 19th century because of the expansion of the city under the reign of Emperor Franz Joseph. Historicism and art nouveau movement were especially influential during this period. Tour several art nouveau buildings: the Austrian Savings Bank and railway stations of Otto Wagner, the Secession building, the Steinhof Church, etc.

 

Modern Vienna

The city has developed very quickly over the last few years. Tour to some of the modern architecture of Vienna, such as Danube City, with its many new high rise buildings, the Museums Quarter, situated in the former imperial stables, the new city district at the Gasometers, etc.

At nightfall, Vienna’s appearance is transformed. Take a tour through the illuminated city centre, take in the view over Vienna from the Cobenzl mountain or drive through the vine growing area of Grinzing with its many wine taverns (stopover possible upon request).
